Presentation to the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners

The Consultant Team will present an update to the Citrus County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on April 25, 2023. The team will be looking for BOCC feedback and direction on the proposed CR 486 IMA boundaries and Future Land Use categories.

Stakeholder Meeting #4

A stakeholder meeting was held on December 5, 2022 with Pine Ridge representatives, including Homeowners Association (HOA) members.

November 16 2022

Stakeholder Meeting #3

The third stakeholder meeting was held with Citrus County staff at the Lecanto Government Building (3600 W Sovereign Path, Lecanto, FL 34461) on November 10th between 12-3 PM. We invited Citrus County Community Services, Growth Management, Public Works, and Water resources staff with a particular interest in the study area to stop by and provide input on the CR 486 IMA.

October 12 2022

Stakeholder Meeting #2

We held the second stakeholder meeting with landowners / institutions at the YMCA (4127 West Norvell Bryant Highway, Lecanto, FL 34461) on October 12 between 12:30-3 PM. We invited landowners / institutions within the study area to stop by and provide input on the CR 486 IMA.

Discussion items covered at the stakeholders meeting included:

What are appropriate or inappropriate land uses within the study area?

  • What are appropriate densities/intensities (dwelling units/acre, Floor Area Ratio, building height) within the study area?
  • Should the entire study area be developed with the same uses and associated density/intensity, or are there segments along CR 486 that should be developed differently?
  • What design standards for site design, architecture, landscaping, and signage are working or need to change within the within the study area?

Stakeholder Meeting #1

We held the land development stakeholder meeting at the Citrus County Chamber office (915 N Suncoast Blvd, Crystal River, FL 34429) on September 13th between 12-3 PM. We invited individuals with land development interest in the CR 486 IMA to stop by and provide input.

Discussion items covered at the stakeholders meeting included:

  • What are appropriate or inappropriate land uses within the study area?
  • What are appropriate densities/intensities (dwelling units/acre, Floor Area Ratio, building height) within the study area?

Public Workshop

Citrus County held a Public Workshop on August 24, 2022, to collect input regarding the CR 486 IMA. Thank you for your attendance and valuable input!

Stakeholder Focus Group Meetings

In addition to the public workshop, which is open to all interested parties, Citrus County will host a series of Stakeholder Focus Group Meetings to collect input regarding the CR 486 IMA. The anticipated schedule will be released once dates and locations have been finalized.

Public Hearings

The Comprehensive Plan Amendments and Land Development Code updates will require a series of public hearings for adoption, including one (1) Planning & Development Commission Board public hearing and One (1) Board of County Commissioners public hearing. Due public notice shall be given in advance of each public hearing, as required by the Citrus County Land Development Code, Section 1405. The dates of these public hearings shall be determined by the County at the end of this IMA study.
